Did you miss Resolana’s first Westside Music Festival last year? Fret not, but mark your calendars for September 24, 2011, noon to 6pm. Themed as a “Celebration of Community,” this year’s festival celebrates Resolana’s efforts to enable women to share most fully and productively with our greater community.
This family-friendly event will include a variety of musical talents, a silent auction featuring goods and services for all tastes and budgets, games and activities for kids of all ages, food and drink to sustain your dancing shoes, and fun, educational opportunities that mirror the classes Resolana hosts in the jail (yoga, rhythms, art projects). Expect some great music! The confirmed participating artists are the amazing Mark McKenzie Quartet, a Dallas-based jazz group, and the Booker T. Washington Choir.
The auction items confirmed so far include a gift certificate for a portrait session with Parasol Photography, including a CD with images, as well as 2 Math tutoring sessions- from a local math tutor with 20+ years experience.
